Time Trial Results

I see that about 30 drivers competed in the time trials. As a GGR board member, I would like to hear your comments on the weekend. Did you enjoy the club race? Should Valentino retire?
How about the schedule? Anything that you didn't like?
Your comments are appreciated.

DE/TT/CR run schedule

Hi Mike, Warren, Wayne, do you have a tentative run group and run schedule for the first DE/TT/CR? How many DE/TT groups will there be? Will there be four 20 minute sessions per DE/TT group on Saturday? What is the Sunday schedule? How have you integrated the CR into the run schedule, and what does ...

Re: 2009 Proposal: Revert Classification System

In an e-mail from Andrew Forrest via the GGR announce system, which I believe is supposed to be used only for official communications from GGR, the outgoing DE/TT chair is polling members. Andrew writes, "What's missing from the discussion is a broad understanding of what the membership at large wan...

Dean, Are not most of the NASA TT and open passing events run in conjunction with a "race" weekend. I'm wondering if their insurance for timed competition events is in place and covers the TT and DE portions. As you know, there are significant differences in the insurance that PCA offers for club ra...

Hi Dean, Thanks. I have not been at a NASA or NCRC event in quite a while.

I'm curious, can anyone please provide the names of any USA car clubs or racing originizations that allow actual timed competitions or races on racetracks without a harness / harness system requirement?
Auto x excluded for this discussion.

Thanks,

For those of you that are interested in this discussion, I would invite you to look at http://zone8.pca.org/rules.htm PCA Zone 8 is one of the few (perhaps the only other) PCA regions that have a formal Time Trial. Their rules regarding seat belts and harness systems are interesting. It is section X...

Once the TT chairman approves the garage rental, either he and/or I will be contacting parties interested in renting a garage in early Feb.

Infineon Garages ?

There is the possibility of reserving garages again this year for the DE and TT # 1 at Infineon. Please indicate on the poll if you would be interested in renting a garage.
We need a minimum of 20 rentals to proceed.

Thanks Dean and David for explaining the amount of time the Ad Hoc group spent on crafting the rules. At least one member of the group remains actively engaged with GGR, and that is why I chose to be a candidate for VP It was understood that the system would need to be improved over time. The means ...

I find Holgers portayal of this situation on the Rennlist GT3 BB to have a different tenor that what he writes on the GGR BB. Mr. Berndt writes: "There is a "secret way", it's called being buddies with the guys who run the show..."Guest Time Trial Driver Program" in GGR-speak. As they say, "Now you ...

Rather than take a vote at the TT itself, would it be possible to have a few selections on the event entry application? Something like: Do you plan on doing timed runs on Sunday? Will you stay after the timed runs if the track is open? Will you depart before the timed runs? Please indicate Saturday ...

One other thing I'm surprised nobody has mentioned with respect to doing timed runs on Sunday morning is the safety aspect. The track in the morning will be cold, people's tires will also be cold and people will be just waking up and nursing their hang-overs from the night before. So in effect, we'l...

The TT series is supposed to be a competitive event. I sincerely hope that it remains so, with timed runs. There are plenty of other DE opportunities available these days. I believe that we can increase participation and still keep those who wish to compete in timed runs and provide sufficient DE se...

Andrew et al. I 'd like to try the timed runs before lunch on Sun. If it works great, if not we can always return to the status quo. We are trying other new ideas this season.
