Re: Laguna Seca Racing Opportunity, September, Unlimited Sound

Met some of the organizers at Club Auto Sport in San Jose last night. Great folks and a neat business/facility. Lot of cool cars, including some Porsches. More details are forthcoming, but one thing they told me/us is that for folks wishing to run Thunderhill with PCA/GGR and then their Laguna event...

PCA Licensure and Club Racing and the Porsche Racing Club

Thanks Andrew, very thorough. I'd like to add a few points: 1. Sanctioning bodies like NASA and SCCA all take medical forms from PCA and vice-versa. So if folks want to get multiple licenses, they need only get one physical and get one set of forms completed. They can then use photocopies of these f...

Re: Places to bring my 2006 Boxster S for 20k Service?

There are some great service providers at Carlsen. I have not used them recently, but I know some of the techs. Of course, Rector has Peter Smith. Peter races with us in the PRC and is a member of the PCA technical group. His responsibilities as a member of that group included the Boxster cars for m...

SF Bay Area Porsche Racing Club Open Haus?

Many of you have heard of the SF Bay Area's Porsche Racing Club. We just finished our fifth season. I want to get some idea of interest regarding a Porsche Racing Club Open Haus that we might try to organize for sometime in January. This would take place on a weekend day and be an informal gathering...

Its been a while since I have visited the GGR site... interesting topics, including this one. One thing I have noticed is that the stock seat designs in newer cars seem to create more challenging problems for racing harnesses. Back in the mid-eighties, one challenge was that there was no longer a la...

Donna and I are fine, thanks. Have not had the car out this year at all... yet. Repave? Wow. I remember what seems like 1 hundred years ago, but was probably more like 10, when they put a slurry coat on at the stick. I rememeber various times running AX after that and the pavement breaking up. So ma...

Interesting thread. Last time I did AX I hated it... something like '03 or '04 at Golden Gate fields. Too slipppery. The time before that was a Bill Newlin course at the stick in y2k or so. I remember seeing third gear in my 951 and getting quite airborn. I had just upgraded to 360 bhp or thereabout...
