Re: 2010 rules proposals

I want to congratulate John for taking this on, and doing such a good job. Having been there, done that, I fully understand what a monumental task this is. I also know how difficult it is to respond to everyone, and John's responses have been so thorough, clear and rational, they also deserve accola...

Re: Tried to calculate new points.... ugh!

I would highly encourage anyone making a proposed points change to do a "what if" it is very easy to do, and helps everyone understand the ramifications a lot better. It is an excellent method for making your case. I think at one time, the points calculator was available as an Excel spreadsheet, so ...

GGR Drivers with the 25 Hours of Thunderhill again and again

We never grow tired of sending congratulations to GGR members for excellence in the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill. This year the honors go to Todd Grantham, Johaness van Overbeek, and Rich Walton for the overall win. They were teamed with Jon Fogerty and Tommy Sadler in completing 761 laps (thats 2,2...

Re: Brake Fluid

For street use, brake fluid can last a long time. The salesman was giving you a line, and didn't know what he was talking about. What does happen to brake fluid after about a year, is it accumulates enough moisture to lower the boiling point. It does not lower it enough to boil in street use, becaus...

Re: Newbie ...Sears Point event and no Ground school expirence

There are excellent SPAs at Sonoma Mission Inn
Wine tasting in the Sonoma Valley
Factory Stores in Napa and Petaluma
Or you could make her sit in a lawn chair at the track. Your choice.

Re: TH #4, another great GGR weekend at the track

I could only budget 2 races this year. I did none last year. It just so happened, that those 2 weekends fall on PRC race weekends, and not GGR/PCA weekends. I promised to come out, but I would've had to add an additional event, and the budget simply did not allow. We would have to learn some new rul...

AX at Great America

Looks like the American AutoX group has secured Great America.

If we are lucky, this can pave the way for others. If we are not, they will hoard it to themselves.

Re: chalking machine

I have always thought we should have 2 chalkers, as one person with one chalker cannot complete both sides of the course in the time allowed.

Re: Are factory belts still OK???

If your proposed race seats are like most, even if they are legal, it is not safe, because the high bolsters would prevent a 3 point belt from sitting properly.
