Re: new rule document

If the timing software etc. can deal with ladies' numbers like 32L maybe it could deal with temporary numbers like T01 - T99. So you could print a stack of temporary numbers and hand them out to anyone who showed up without permanent ones. Better than tape.

Re: new rule document

This is a great idea. I've been printing my own numbers for the last year or so, being too much of a procrastinator to order real ones. The cost of ink might get a little high (on an ink jet) for 100 sets of numbers though.

Re: new rule document

Which brings us back to where we started, that now you need your class as well, and class can change whenever you do something to the car (Rule 4.6Ab).

Actually, this rule seems kind of lame, in that it's so easy to look up someone's car class online - you can even use a smart phone to do it on site.

Re: new rule document

The Solotime site has some cool stuff. The static cling numbers are particularly interesting. Finally, a good use for it!

Re: new rule document

Seems like a hassle for those who use masking tape. Seems expensive for those that don't, since you potentially need a new class label every time you change your car or GGR changes the rules. Oh well.

What were the changes? Anything that requires changes to the classification site?

I could only attend on Saturday, but what a wonderfully run event! To get eleven runs in with 100 people running was quite an achievement. Well done!

Re: 997 TPMS

My 911 is older and I don't have first-hand knowledge, but a quick Google search shows TMPS Wholesalers have Beru 997 TPMS sensors for $91 each.

Re: Dedicated xcross wheels for '06 997 C4S

Since you're talking about 19" wheels as a possibility, I'm assuming you're looking at Ventus V12's, not Z214's (not available in 19"). V12's, at UTQG 280, are not even that sticky a street tire. Why bother with dedicated wheels for tires in that performance class? There are plenty of DOT R-Comp alt...

Re: June AX Photos And Event Thoughts

Very well run event. I can't remember the last time we got close to a dozen runs at a GGR Autocross!

It does occur to me that there is one way to be absolutely certain the course goes exactly where you want ....

And my poor old 1973 911T is in the same class as a brand new GT3RS. But I love challenges!

The 2010 classification site is athttp://comp.pca-ggr.org or http://comp.pca-ggr.org/classification. The old 2008/09 site is at http://comp.pca-ggr.org/rulcomm_cs. You may have encountered a direct link to the old site.

Classification Site updated for 2010 Rules

The classification site has been updated to reflect the 2010 rules. New 2009 and 2010 models have been added. Base point values for many types of cars have changed. The modification points structure has also changed substantially. These changes require that all cars be classified from scratch. You m...

[quote="C4 Pazzo" Would it be possible to maintain a link to a copy of the existing car class information? [/quote] Yes. I'll keep the old database in its current state around for a while. Re: 2010 rules proposals

John,

Understood. Of course the "unforseen consequence" is to prevent some folks like me who might otherwise have run Time Trials from doing so. I must admit though that I didn't have any firm plans in that direction.

John,

Will the new rules proposal be modified not to include wheel points against the 650-point GT class threshold? Or was your "maybe" just a suggestion?

Re: 2010 rules proposals

My mod points (including wheel points) would be exactly 650 under the new system :D But if my 160 wheel points didn't count, I'd be well under the threshold.
