996 100 Liter Fuel Tank

I am of the understanding that a 100 liter fuel tank was/is an option in Europe, but all U.S. cars got the 64 liter tank used in AWD cars. Does anyone have a contact in Europe that I might try to track one down?

Thank you.

996 Fuel Pressure

If anyone experiences a complete drop in fuel pressure (which may make you believe that your fuel pump has failed), here is some information to consider. 1. The fuel pump is in the gas tank. 2. The fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator are also in the gas tank. No, I'm not kidding. 3. Access to th...

No, just a Coke to settle her stomach. Her most interesting comment was that she could tell John's car was a little "softer" than Jeff Kost's GT3 that she rode in last year. Let's find her an RS in 2011!

Buttonwillow Taste of the Track 2010

I would like to thank Claude Leglise and John Tavernetti, who drove my Ford lovin' brother-in-law and my 70 year old mother-in-law, respectively, at Buttonwillow on Saturday. Both had a great time. My mother-in-law already wants to know the 2011 dates we'll be back. I am lobbying for them to come an...

Re: 996 alignment

1. When you start participating in DE/TT, what percentage of miles put on the car will that be (figure approx. 200 track miles per DE/TT weekend), or will the car be dedicated to track use? You might want to consider this, as setting the alignment for a lot of negative camber will cause very prematu...

Honoring Jay Dugan

As it was announced at Thunderhill this past weekend, our beloved and esteemed Jay Dugan has elected to retire from his long held care of the Grid Steward position. At Cat Siemen's suggestion, many of this weekend's attendees signed a 2010 shirt for Jay. We'll send the shirt off to him this week. We...

Yes, what was I thinking? That's anybodys' guess. However, this little wimp Bug finished ahead of four Porsches.

Gentlemen - Upon seeing Roger's announcement that the new classification system is in place, I went ahead and re-entered my car. In reference to the statement that all entries will be deleted, in order for me to re-enter my car's info, I needed to delete my car, and start over. Done. Thanks for ever...

Re: PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTOR

Believe it or not, Stead Porsche on North Main in WC has tech staff that know these cars very well. (I also have an '02, and the Stead service manager and I see eye to eye on a lot of things.) If going to a dealer is against your religion, then you could try Pacific Power Motorsports in Concord.

Yes, I'm Nuts - VW Bug Track Car

Does anyone have past experience working with an old VW Bug ('69 - IRS rear end) for track or autocross duty? Specifically, what has been done in terms of stiffening the chassis (tying roll cage to axle beam or rear torsion tube or both)? Sway-A-Way is a source for larger rear torsion bars, adjustab...
