I've always jumped power to fuse c3 iirc to power up the central alarm system to open the hood.

Just so you know this is not an easy or fun job. Even professional Porsche mechanics dislike this particular job. Be prepared to spend at least 8 hours on it.

Harbor Freight sells a cheap kit that works great. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=45210

Please note that this is not an easy job to do in the driveway.
