AX 4 - Videos

Post by syeo86 » Mon Jun 18, 2018 12:25 pm

Videos!

Run5 42.361+1 : https://youtu.be/fnKgsE_uTao
Run6 43.031 (Clean) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLARA6bJNLs

Sorry about the audio. I brought a external mic, but forgot to turn it on. If anyone is curious I have some telemetry data for the runs: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CSBTB ... A1AvjZ0S2i

Not sure if the logs work with Aim's software, I think maybe GPS position data is recorded differently. The datalogs came from a RaceCapture Pro.

Fast, fun course! Good to see that clustering of Caymans toward the top of the standings.

another fast and fun course. it looks like the theme for the day was to keep it clean. more than a few of us had our fastest run thrown out because of cones. we got plenty of runs but it was hard to be aggressive and stay away from the cones. the first box after the slalom was tight but after a few runs it wasn't a problem and turned out to be fun, for me. i ended up being a bit to aggressive on the final elements after the long straight.

i liked the extra cones added before the u turn and the sweeper leading to the long straight was fun. i ended up short shifting into third rather than hitting the limiter in second.

my fastest but with a cone. 42.757

my fastest clean run. 42.798

see you guys next time. LPR is this weekend :)

Here's a much slower run... C&C welcome

(the extra horn action is due to failing bushings in the steering wheel)

Thanks guys for getting this link started. You have posted some impressive numbers between the three of you! I am bringing the rear end at around 43 seconds. Here is a video of my typical run - https://1drv.ms/v/s!AvpsCl-IH8Bth5s5jRYlJWhlavQhZA.
Note, I tried out my Hero 6 for the first time. Would love to hear your thoughts on image stabilization.

I can see why you ask about image stabilization. I don't remember your videos having a weird side to side movement before. I generally use my suction mount for outside the car and a clamp for inside the car on the luggage bar. I can bring both if you want to check them out next month.

the video is clear and stable but seems a bit off. like the video is slowing down, speeding up at odd times and panning to keep the image stable. it seems a bit artificial to me. i would rather have the video a bit bumpy. a shaky mount could be an issue

the run looked fast and clean, its a shame about the cones on the other runs. both you and Shannon would have gotten me if it weren't for those darn cones :P

Feels slightly artificial but not distracting to me. Why did you mount the GoPro like a dashcam instead of outside or pointing to the steering wheel though?

Here's my best run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_xvKmblnWI. I can see where I left some time on the table during/after the slalom. I should start looking at these the day-of instead of afterwards.

Here's a playlist of all my runs if you're interested.

Late to the game, here's my fastest run in the morning. Couldn't improve in the afternoon, maybe from overheated tires from so many reruns.

Also in the morning on my last run, almost went into a spin going into the straight after the hairpin & crossing the painted surface. Took out the apex cone at speed.
