GGR Drivers with the 25 Hours of Thunderhill again and again

Post by David Leong » Mon Dec 07, 2009 12:52 am

We never grow tired of sending congratulations to GGR members for excellence in the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill. This year the honors go to Todd Grantham, Johaness van Overbeek, and Rich Walton for the overall win.

They were teamed with Jon Fogerty and Tommy Sadler in completing 761 laps (thats 2,283 miles to you and me), in the Mercer Motorsports GT3, setting a new record.

They join a distinguished list of GGR members who have podiumed, won their class, and won overall. In fact, Rich Walton is the first and only two time overall winner that I am aware of.

Honorable mention goes to other GGR members who also drove and crewed on various teams at this, the longest road race on the planet.

Porsches finished first, second and fourth, with a similar 997 GT3 from Ehret Winery in second, and the 996 GT3 from Players racing just missing the podium.

Pictures to follow.
