Rolling Thunder Club Race Announcements

Post by CarlSwitzer » Tue Apr 05, 2011 7:28 pm

Greetings Racers:

Things are coming together nicely for our first "Rolling Thunder" Club Race of 2011 (April 30-May 1). We wanted to send a short note with a few important announcements regarding: (1) helmet requirements; (2) accommodations in Willows; (3) volunteers needed!; (4) registration deadlines; (5) sound limits; and (6) contact information for your questions.

(1) HELMETS
If you haven't replaced your Snell SA2000 helmet, do not worry! PCA has offered a grace period through May 31, 2011 for you to update your old helmet to one that is Snell 2005 or 2010 compliant. PCA's 2011 Club Race Rules can be found at http://www.pca.org/portals/cr/2011_club ... e_book.pdf.

(2) ACCOMMODATIONS
We reserved a block of discounted rooms for racers at the Baymont Inn & Suites Willows. You can get more information about our host hotel at http://www.baymontinns.com/Baymont/cont ... tyId=13581. This property is centrally located near Starbucks, gas stations, Casa Ramos (stumbling distance) and the track (~7 miles).

(3) VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We have a couple volunteers to assist the National Stewards with scales and the like, but we could use a couple more. If you know someone that can help, please have him or her contact Carl at ggrttchair@gmail.com.

(4) REGISTRATION DEADLINES
Registration is currently open at http://clubregistration.net/index.cfm?pca and the early registration rates will apply through April 15. Please register as early as you can and encourage your friends and fellow racers to do the same. A strong turn out is very important to the success of the Rolling Thunder Club Race series.

(5) SOUND LIMITS
Please remember that, while quite liberal, Thunderhill Raceway Park does have a sound restriction of 103 db. It hasn't been an issue for our drivers or racers in the past, but wanted to err on the safe side and remind all you racers.

(6) IMPORTANT CONTACT INFORMATION
For questions about Club Race registration, please email ggrracereg@gmail.com. For any other questions, please email ggrttchair@gmail.com.

Thank you for reading!
