Porsches with non-Porsche engines

Post by Dan Thompson » Tue Mar 06, 2007 10:03 am

In the past I know especially for TT the cars had to be Porsche chassis, motor and transmission.
For Auto Cross we have allowed conversions in the past to at least participate in events.

with the new rules I see no specific statement or rule about this subject.
what is the general thought on this?

there are lots of 914s out there with SBC, subie, and v6 conversions.
can they now compete in TT and AX for points and year end awards?
what about a 928 with a SBC conversion etc?
there is lots of discussion about this on several 914 bbs and I would like to be able to clear it up.

Larry, David, others?

thanks

Actually, the line that says if it is not listed, you can't do it, WAS left out on purpose.

If anyone finds a killer mod, that should be corrected no later than the next revision.

I am not trying to stir things up,

but guys......shouldn't you be agreeing on what the wording was supposed to be since you were both principals in writing them?

Maybe Larry was absent for that meeting.

Arrrrrh! So which is it maties? Do we have agreement from all "official" parties? Some of us are in limbo over this and there are people who will make alternate plans depending on formal ruling on this item. Given we are weeks away from first event I'm assuming David's ruling stands or is its Larry's call? So I see nitro injection isnt specifically mentioned. So can we use Nitro? Oh yes ...can pirates drive in GGR events?
