Also looks like the alowance to use factory belts may be gone.

Do we now have to have a five or six point?

Do I then need a race seat, I do not want to cut holes in my sport seats?

Any other guidance or changes I should know about?

Thank you

Factory belts are fine if they are in good condition. If you go
to a racing seat then you will need to put in a five point system.
You can always ask George because he knows these rules.

Paul is correct that factory belts are okay.

But the part about the racing seat is backwards. If you want racing belts (5 or 6 point harnesses) then you have to install a seat that has all the cooresponding belt-guide holes. It's not the other way around.

In fact, I believe so long as your car is pre-2005 (i.e. there is no side airbag in the seat itself) then you could install a race-seat and continue using the factory 3-point belts. If my understanding is correct, that is allowed because you have not altered the factory safety-system.

How can I confirm that I can keep my stock 3 point belts w race style seats?

Thanks all. :D

If your proposed race seats are like most, even if they are legal, it is not safe, because the high bolsters would prevent a 3 point belt from sitting properly.

It might depend on the seat and how it is set up. I had speedster seats (simmilear the Pole Positions) in my 91 Turbo and the stock three points worked correctly.

Thx.
