I am wondering if one of your members might be able/willing to post some suggested repair shops for the uninformed in the bay area.
This would be a huge help. Only a few shops out there and they all charge big$$ so its really important to get it right the first time.
Thanks,

Welcome Drew!
I am not sure where you are located, but a good place to start would be the sponsors for our events. You can find a list of those on the Official GGR website: http://www.pca-ggr.org (lower left on the home page). If Concord is within driving distance for you, I would personally recommend: http://pacificpowermotorsports.com .

Will give mention to a few South Bay spots:
Jerry Woods in Campbell is my personal shop of choice and I'd recommend them without reservation as far as their work.
RMG in Sunnyvale is another shop with a great reputation, although I've not been out there for years.
Rennwerks is now in the South Bay; I've not used them but know they had been a favored spot of some club members when they were up on the Peninsula.

I'm a Porsche newbie - but I just went to Modderman in Mountain View. Dave was extremely helpful and easy to work with when I brought my 'new' 82 Porsche to their shop. I've never had such a thorough review and examination of a car performed.
